Years: 2013-2014

Taylor Dolberg is a senior in Chemical Engineering in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University. Through the NASA Space Grant Program, under the direction of Dr. Michael Sierks, she will be researching antibodies as biomarkers for the diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease. By modifying the growth conditions for E. Coli bacterial cultures that express the desired antibody, the yield of functional antibody can be improved and tested using immunoassays. Last summer, Taylor researched yeast metabolomics for the application of pharmaceuticals and biofuels at Georgia Institute of Technology. Taylor has been admitted to the ASU 4 + 1 program, where she will pursue her Master's degree in Chemical Engineering while continuing her research with Alzheimer's Disease. Taylor is also actively involved in the ASU chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, serving as the Vice President for the 2013-2014 academic year.
