Michelle Myers is a senior majoring in Materials Science Engineering and Photography at Arizona State University. She is currently working with photolithography and various thin film etching processes with graduate and undergraduate students in the Newman Research Group. Microfabrication techniques are being studied and optimized in order to make thin film devices, focusing on the areas of photovoltaic and superconductor applications. Photolithography and reactive ion etching techniques are the primary procedures for device fabrication. Josephson junctions are used for photon sensing applications and photovoltaic devices are used to generate electricity from sunlight.
