Mariela Robledo is the Vice-Regional Student Representative for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) region two. She is a Barrett Honors College student majoring in chemical engineering and pursuing a minor in Spanish Literature. Mariela’s mentors are Lenore Dai and Terry Alford, focusing on an energy and sustainability project in the chemical engineering department through the Fulton Undergraduate Research Initiative (FURI) and the ASU/NASA Space Grant Internship Program. Mariela interned for the Personal Care Research and Development unit at Henkel this past summer, and is excited to join The Clorox Company as a processing development intern this summer in California. Besides her active interest in personal, academic, and professional growth, she is also passionate about outreach and networking, and is very excited to expand STEM awareness in her community, as well as to work with leaders on a chapter, regional, and national level.
