Daming Dominic Chen is a senior majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics at Arizona State University, and a student at Barrett, The Honors College. He is working with Dr. Gail-Joon Ahn on computer security research, and with Dr. Alberto Behar on the design and implementation of the electrical and programming subsystems of the Micro-Submersible Lake Exploration Device (MSLED), a miniaturized autonomous submersible for investigating subglacial lakes and other hazardous aquatic environments. Designed to measure hydrological and biological characteristics of subglacial water systems, MSLED is currently slated for upcoming deployment in collaboration with the Whillans Ice Stream Subglacial Access Research Drilling (WISSARD) project.
