Informal education and outreach

STEM outreach plays a vital role in shaping the future of science and engineering. In today’s rapidly evolving world, informal communication of STEM topics helps bridge the gap between experts and the broader community. It empowers individuals to understand, engage with, and contribute to scientific and technological progress—because building a better future requires effort from all of humanity.

ASU/NASA Space Grant interns participate year-round in a variety of informal education activities. Some of the most notable Tempe/Phoenix community-wide events include:

Space grant interns often lead the way at these events by sharing their knowledge and experience through:

  • Oral presentations
  • Research posters
  • Informal talks
  • Onsite Tours
  • K-12 Classroom Visits

In addition to these events, Space Grant interns work with organizations such as the Arizona Science Center and ASU Preparatory Academies, further extending their impact across the community.
