Brance Hudzietz is a junior at Arizona State University, where he is studying physics and computational mathematics. His area of research focuses on unmanned aerial vehicles and their use in science. In particular, he will focus on using autonomous rotary vehicles as a platform for aerial photography and structure from motion. This incorporates both field work, in which the team flies a helicopter and take pictures, as well as data analysis, which incorporates the stitching and orthorectification of images into 3-D models.
